FLORENCE, Ky. (Friday, Feb. 13, 2026) – Michael Dubb and Doug Nachman’s G T Five Hundred scored his first career stakes victory when he led every step of the way to take Friday night’s $123,750 Forego Stakes by a head over It’s Bourbon Thirty at Turfway Park Racing & Gaming.

Trained by Mike Maker and ridden by Fernando De La Cruz, G T Five Hundred completed 6 ½ furlongs in 1:18.26. It was his fifth win at Turfway Park from six starts. Maker claimed the gelding for $40,000 for Dubb in November of 2024. The Forego was the stakes debut for the horse presumably named for a version of Ford’s iconic Mustang.

After a good start, G T Five Hundred was immediately sent to the lead by De La Cruz and was pressured early to his outside by Runnin’ Rocket as he completed a quarter-mile in :23.01. G T Five Hundred kept his even tempo along the backside through a half-mile in :46.01. Around the far turn, It’s Bourbon Thirty made a three-wide charge at G T Five Hundred and battled with him for the entire length of the stretch. However, inside the final furlong, G T Five Hundred dug down deep to hold It’s Bourbon Thirty at bay by a head.

It was three lengths back to Banjo Chris in third. He was followed by Playmeatune,MultitaskScriptOkiro and Runnin’ Rocket.

G T Five Hundred is a 6-year-old son of Astern (AUS) out of the Mineshaft mare Cocoanut Row. He was bred in Kentucky by John Mullholland and Karen Mulholland.
