Fourstardave winner Carl Spackler headlines G1 Coolmore Turf Mile

Three Grade 1 races to be run on Saturday’s 11 -race card

LEXINGTON, KY (Sept. 30, 2024) – e Five Racing Thoroughbreds’ Carl Spackler (IRE), winner

of the FanDuel Fourstardave Handicap (G1) at Saratoga, headlines a field of nine entered Monday

for Saturday’s 39th running of the $1.25 million Coolmore Turf Mile (G1), one of five stakes to be

run on Saturday’s 11-race program that begins at 1 p.m. ET.

The Coolmore Turf Mile is the richest race in Keeneland history.

In addition to the Coolmore Turf Mile, two other Grade 1 races are on the program: the 27th

running of the $750,000 First Lady Presented by UK HealthCare – which drew a field of 11 headed

by defending champion Gina Romantica – and the 111th running of the Claiborne Breeders’

Futurity, which drew a field of 11 and is headed by Hopeful (G1) runner-up Ferocious.

Other stakes Saturday are the 44th running of the $350,000 Thoroughbred Club of America (G2),

which drew a field of seven and features multiple graded stakes winner Brightwork, and the 28th

running of the $350,000 Woodford (G2) Presented by FanDuel, which drew a field of 12 and three

also-eligibles and features last year’s winner Arzak as well as Nobals, winner of the 2023 Breeders’

Cup Turf Sprint (G1).
