Ellis Park press release

HENDERSON, Ky. (Monday, June 24, 2024) – Ellis Park is excited to invite families to the track for “Breakfast with the Works” on Saturday from 7-9:30 a.m. (all times Central) for a unique, behind-the-scenes experience of morning training.

“Breakfast with the Works” is a family-friendly event with free admission. Attendees are invited to enjoy complimentary coffee and donuts while getting an up-close look at the horses preparing for the Ellis Park racing season, which spans July 4-Aug. 26.

Along with watching horses train, many local trainers will be in attendance to educate fans about what is happening on the racetrack. Off the track, fans can visit the concourse where booths will be set up by Friends of Ferdinand, The Farmer and the Frenchman, and TwinSpires. Guests will also be able to register to win a signed Ellis Park saddle towel from many of the jockeys participating this summer.

The 102nd live racing season at Ellis Park begins July 4, with daily first posts at 12:50 p.m. Racing will be held Saturday through Monday, except for the opening week, which will span Thursday through Sunday. For more information about the summer season, click here.
